Position Title: Customer Service Representative/Cashier

Reports To: Store Manager or Shift Supervisor

Position Summary:
The Customer Service Cashier is the front-line representative of the Times Oil Store, responsible for providing friendly, efficient service to customers while accurately handling cash and sales transactions. This role helps ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that promotes repeat business and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly, courteously, and with a positive attitude.
  • Operate cash registers, scanners, and credit card machines to process sales transactions accurately.
  • Handle payments, make change, and balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Assist customers with questions, product locations, and store promotions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, coffee station, and surrounding areas.
  • Restock merchandise, coolers, and shelves as needed, ensuring accurate pricing and labeling.
  • Monitor product expiration dates and assist with inventory management and rotation.
  • Follow company policies for handling returns, refunds, and tobacco/alcohol sales (where applicable).
  • Promote safety and security by being alert to suspicious activity and following store security procedures.
  • Support overall store operations by assisting team members during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service or cashier experience a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math and cash handling abilities.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (lifting up to 25 lbs).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

  • Requires prolonged standing and some light lifting or stocking duties.
  • Exposure to cleaning products, food and beverages, and varying indoor/outdoor temperatures.
